Corvinelli Homes has been building quality homes for over 20 years and we pride ourselves on ensuring that new homeowners are completely satisfied in their purchase. One of the ways we do this is by registering all of our homes with Tarion â (formerly the Ontario New Home Warranty Program). As a registered builder with Tarion â you are protected by the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act. This Act outlines the warranty protection that the new home and condominium builders must provide to their customers.
You are covered for a 2 year warranty against work and materials and a 7 year warranty against major structural defects.
While we strive to build a defect free home, we are realistic enough to realize that there may be something in the home that may not perform as intended. In order to ensure that we have your full satisfaction with your new home, we would like to have a 3 and 11 month update on any items that require our attention.

During Construction
After an Agreement to Purchase has been signed, we will commence with construction of your home. We encourage you to visit your home to view all facets of the construction process. The house structure is the most important aspect of home construction and we can have an informal walk-through at any stage of construction to answer your questions.
The “Walk Through”
Once construction has completed and your home is ready for occupancy, we will schedule a walk through. The walk through may take place any time between the end of construction and within a few days of your possession date. This is an opportunity for us to take you on a tour of your new home and to explain some of its features. It is also an opportunity for you to take a close look and note any details that may require our attention.
It is very important that any repairs be identified. Cosmetic damages are easier to notice during a walk through and it is your opportunity to point out touch ups, scratches, or defects before your furnishings arrive. We will make a list of these items and your signature will be required to confirm that both parties agree to the list.
Completion of the ”List”
Now that we have the “List”, Corvinelli Homes will do our best to have all of the items completed within 2 weeks (14 days). This time may fall after your closing date. If work is required to be completed after you move in, we will schedule a time to have access to complete the repairs. Delays may occur if materials are back ordered or should there be scheduling problems. We will complete items on the list that was signed during the walk through.
Warranty Certificates
The walk through is also the time to sign the Tarion Warranty Certificate. This certificate enrolls your new home with the Tarion Corporation. You will also receive your Energy Star Diploma at this time if you purchased this upgrade.
Pictures and Comments
Once the walk through and certificates have been presented, it is time for us to take a picture of you and your new home. We will also present you with a Customer Comment Card for you to fill out and mail back to us. Your comments will help us ensure that we maintain the “Corvinelli Difference”.
